Meta says their new Twitter competitor Threads will be compatible with ActivityPub (& thereby with Mastodon) "soon". But they've been promising end-to-end encryption for BookFace Messenger "soon" for years. I'll be more interested in Threads after ActivityPub integration has been done.
@matt I downloaded it and gave it a shot. Right now its nothing major. It auto followed everyone i have on insta (i am not a fan of that). I don't think it will be great for me. BUT will bring the fediverse more to the average user. That's the best way i see it. If it happens that is.
